About the event
Minnesota Women in Conservation is excited to have Andrea Lorek Strauss and Grace Milanowski from the University of Minnesota Extension joining us for November’s webinar on participatory, (aka citizen) science. We’ll learn about the Offal Wildlife Watching Project, which invites people to observe and document the wildlife that visits animal remains, helping researchers better understand scavenger behavior and the important role these animals play in our ecosystems. Andrea brings years of experience working with participatory science projects through the University of Minnesota Extension, and Grace will share more about the Offal Wildlife Watching Project and how people can get involved. The webinar will conclude with brainstorming and sharing ideas on how you can contribute to the data including projects like nitrate testing, water-clarity testing, bird and insect counts, as well as tracking plant phenology.
